The Alpine Lodge was built in the 1940's and has been continuously owned by the same family for three generations. Painstaking detail has been taken to preserve this historic mountain lodge. The walls of the interior are decorated with antique hunting, fishing and farming equipment. Almost every square inch is covered with artifacts and memorabilia of days gone by. It's virtually like visiting an American heritage museum for free.

From bacon and eggs to prime rib the restaurant is open to the public and lodge guests. You will have the chance to mingle with and get to know local residents. The lodge also offers a full service pub for your evening relaxation and enjoyment after a day of riding in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia. The restaurant also offers catering for a variety of occasions with your choice of a private party room or enclosed pavilion next to the Cheat River.

If you are riding through West Virginia and you want to bunk at place that is full of charm and character and also friendly to bikers then you must plan on stopping here. With accommodations ranging from lodge rooms, motel style rooms out back, camping or even a private cabin you'll find just what you're looking for. The lodge is located ten miles east of Elkins on Route 33. Far enough from town to be away from it all and close enough to town for convenience. Nearby attractions abound and range from hiking to skiing to fishing or just plain riding. This is a great place to unload your saddlebags and spend a couple of days doing loop rides of the area without your luggage.

Join Mark and Pam Burke for an evening or more while you're on your next trip through God's country. You'll be glad you did.
